My name is Neil Nair, and I am a Grade 11 student at UWCSEA East. As an avid participant in Model United Nations (MUN), it should come as no surprise that I am fascinated by global politics and international affairs—with a strong emphasis on humanitarian crises, such as the Rohingya genocide. Having chaired my Middle School service centred around helping those in Myanmar, I feel passionately about the conflict and find the atrocities the Rohingya have to bear unconscionable.

In today’s world, we encounter numerous conflicts that often go unnoticed by the public eye. One such conflict is the anglophone crisis, which is intertwined with humanitarian violations. Its victims are deprived of their livelihoods, and I am honoured to use my voice to empower those who are left silenced and inspire others to continue fostering positive change.
